A career coaching session can last 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Depending on your goals, however, it may be necessary to have several sessions. We agree on this individually and from session to session. You decide for yourself how many sessions to attend.
Career coaching in presence would take place in my coaching room in Erlangen-Mitte. Of course, for career coaching online you do not need physical contact.
All topics can be worked on both online and in presence. What you prefer individually depends entirely on you.
Coaching can help you to get out of difficult situations, to develop new perspectives for your own career path or to find out which skills you can or should develop further in order to achieve your goals. It can serve to reflect on career paths, support you in making decisions or accompany you in change processes and reorientation. Coaching provides you with goal-oriented, solution- and resource-oriented support in challenging situations in order to develop strategies for upcoming next steps.
For example, if you need information on career options and I specifically pass this on to you as a counselor, then we are in a counseling session and you receive targeted answers to your questions. Or I give you advice. In that case, however, it is my own personal view of things.
In a coaching process, however, I offer you as a coach a framework to find personal answers to complex, individual questions that move you on your career path. The answers to your questions are not given to you by me, the coach, but are developed by you. As a coach, I support you in finding the right solutions for yourself. So the focus is explicitly on you - not on my factual knowledge. However, I will be happy to give you this free of charge if you wish.
Coaching should be explicitly distinguished from
Consultations, which often focus on and answer questions about concrete facts.
Trainings that want to or are supposed to impart concrete competencies or a certain knowledge and where there are usually predefined learning contents.
Psychiatric forms of therapy of any kind in which mental problems, disorders or illnesses are treated. Here, the person seeking help is usually no longer able to use their own resources to help themselves.

No one! A coaching session is a strictly confidential four-eyes process. All documents, information and contents of the coaching process are kept strictly confidential.
Yes, definitely. Because of my intercultural background, I can put myself in your shoes very well. In coaching, we look together at what the problem is and what you can do to get on better in the German working world.
The term coach is not protected. This means that many people call themselves coaches but are actually consultants or trainers and have varying degrees of training. If a coach has been certified by one of the large coaching associations such as the DVCT, it is ensured that he or she follows established regulations and uses recognised methods to coach systemically. For the certification, I had to coach in front of an examination board, write a comprehensive self-report and provide proof of a certain number of successfully conducted coaching sessions. I now have about 700 hours of coaching experience.
No, if there are tasks, they are very relaxed and can be done “on the side”
Beginners
No, if you don’t want them to. We discuss in advance what I will share and what I will not share in the final discussion with your parents.
In general, systemic coaching is a solution-oriented approach. This means that at the beginning of a coaching process there is always a joint clarification of goals with the coachee. If parents want to know “what will come out” of such a coaching session, I am happy to offer a free preliminary discussion. Sometimes there are different expectations of the coaching process and the resulting outcome. A joint follow-up discussion can also be useful. However, this only takes place in the presence of the coachee and after prior consultation. In general, you should be open and ready for coaching and you should help us to reach your coaching goal together.
Yes, absolutely! Coaching with me means self-reflection under my guidance. A central element of career coaching with regard to initial professional orientation and reorientation is the analysis of your strengths and motivations.
We take a close look at which occupational fields match your skills and motivations. Partly you work out these yourself, partly I make suggestions.
A good time for coaching is at the end of grade 11 or beginning of grade 12. As soon as you know what you want to do after your Abitur, you can relax and prepare for your Abitur. If it’s not too much for you, I can of course also coach you during your Abitur preparations. Many coachees experience this as a relaxing time to do something for themselves.
No, unfortunately you can’t. Your child is a young adult and must decide for him/herself whether he/she wants to take up coaching. Only if he or she is willing to do so will he or she actively participate and the coaching process be a success.
Yes, definitely. Coaching will make you aware of why the chosen course of study does not suit you and what would be better for you.

Yes, definitely. Decision-making is one of the main topics in coaching.

Yes, definitely. Sometimes your private or professional life changes and what was right before no longer fits. Together we analyse what is important to you in life and in your working environment and what the new professional field should look like. If you wish, we can also work out the steps you need to take to get there.

Yes, definitely. The academic bottleneck is everywhere. Career coaching helps to name one’s strengths and skills and opens one’s eyes to the non-academic career path, which can be both Plan B and Plan A.
Yes, definitely. Conflicts in the workplace can be solved well in a coaching session without the presence of the “conflict partner”.
Yes, definitely. Overstrain and overwork are common coaching topics in everyday working life. Often, overload is also related to poor time management and the ability to prioritise. This is where coaching can make a big difference.
Yes, definitely. Reconciling family and work is a common coaching topic in everyday working life.
Yes, definitely. Poor time management is caused by prioritizing and not being able to say ’no’. This is where coaching can make a big difference.
